where hospitality people meet
In what seemed like minus degree temperatures, indeed they may well have been judging by the colour of my nose, The Ritz warmed up whilst waiting for their opposition The Mayfair. They in turn arrived 20minutes later, having spent too long searching for the pitches and a man down before play.
The Ritz very graciously accepted to play 15 minutes each way with 6 a-side and we were game on!
It wasn't long before the Ritz showed their dominating force with a 3 - 1 lead and with plenty of players on the bench, it was looking like a potential game over. But by half time, The Mayfair had found their form and fought back to see half time close with the Ritz still in front at 4 -3. Spirits were high and it wasn't just the air that was blue, with some strong talking coming from both ends of the pitch!!
I can't quite remember the sequence of goals from there on in because my fingers had stopped working which was making the taking of pictures almost impossible (what I did take is attached) but The Mayfair contined to score goals despite the fact that one of their team was limping up and down the pitch!
Barry was not happy and his boys were being stretched whilst Darren continued to distract with his bright pink socks stamping up and down the pitch!
Final whistle and Dave (our resident ref) tells me The Mayfair have stolen the match with a final score of 6-4. The Ritz will return to fight another day!
Frankly in weather conditions like tonight, everyone deserves a pat on the back and that includes the supporters! Looking forward to Tuesday when the Jumeriah Carlton Tower takes on The Berkley - wouldn't want to put a bet down on this!
