Training the future generation in hospitality

Training the future generation in hospitality

WAITING – BAR – EVENTS – BARISTA– RECEPTION – MANAGEMENT

Who are we?

Established within the industry the Off to Work Academy provide a great program that will set the foundations for individuals seeking to build their career in hospitality.

Every month we take on individuals looking to develop and enhance their skills with our intensive theory and practical program. This covers the essential areas in front of house operations and we have affectionately called it our ‘Hospitality Hero’ course.

Working with a number of high-end event companies, top restaurants, style bars, recognised hotels and distinguished contract caterers at the end of the course we offer a great opportunity for full or part time employment, should they desire.

What are we offering?

Set over a month the intense training program works to a time table which also includes the opportunity of a minimum of eight hours of paid work experience each week and full support from experienced professionals with backgrounds in restaurants, bars, events and the kitchen.

Included in the program are the following areas:
• Introduction to the events and hospitality industry with guest speakers.
• Floor and bar service skills development with practical training.
• Culinary Arts – The understanding gastronomy, food terminology and cuisine standards.
• Bar set up, terminology, product knowledge, an introduction to cocktails and wine tasting techniques.
• Barista skills and service – Understanding coffee shop operations.
• Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Level 2 in Food Safety
• BIIAB level 2 National Certificate for Personal License Holders
• Guest relationship management; know your customer and their needs.
• Live practical work experience in an established venue with support from professionals.
• How to improve your sales techniques - Be the top seller.
• How to improve your CV and cover letter writing.

What do you get?

After successful completion of the program each ‘Hero’ will receive accredited certificates, including an industry recognised health and hygiene certificate and BIIAB personal license, dedicated career guidance and from their professionally finished CV, if they desired, be put them forward for a guaranteed 3 interviews. In addition, should they prove their abilities on the course we continue to offer them temporary work through our Off to Work People.

So what is the deal?

Initially we conduct meetings to find out more about our candidates and consider all applications.
Things we look for are:
• A strong command of the English language.
• An individual with the right attitude and someone who really wants to work in hospitality.
• We consider individuals of all levels, though hospitality experience is not necessary, anyone with a customer related background will have an advantage.
• We look for individuals that are flexible with their time for work experience and interviews.
• Anyone looking to work in the hospitality industry must be punctual, well presented and have the ‘can do’ attitude to succeed.

How much does it cost?

The program does come at a fee of £495 but with no deposit required we set up a repayment plan that is spread over three months with the option to re-sit any module should individuals feel they need more time to develop their skills.

Where do I apply?

For more information contact Neil direct on 020 7381 8222 and ask for the training Academy or alternatively email us your CV and cover letter to neil@offtowork.co.uk
